Psalm 95:2 Let us come before Him with Thanksgiving and extol Him with music and song. As a young lad I have always enjoyed music whether it was singing in school or church or singing in a choir. I want to thank my Lord and Saviour for giving me a song to sing a song of freedom from the bonds of sin. In 1995 I found true freedom in Christ through forgiveness of sin and being set free from the chains that bound me.
When I met the Calvary Echoes for the 1st time it was will I was working painting a business in Lyons Ks, when we seen this bus go by. About and hour later me and my boys went to eat and the local pizza place and seen them there, and Dale gave me a CD of all The Favorites. The next day was Sunday and we went to hear them in the evening at Plevna Community Church, and I was excited at what I had heard. In September of 2008 Dale called me and asked me if I could fill in for a while. After 2 years Dale suddenly passed away in May 2010, that fall Dales daughters ask if I was interested in the sound equipment and I felt that the Lord was telling me to take over the Calvary Echoes. I thought that in a few months that we would be singing again. When this did not happen right away I thought that it would be soon. After 2 years I gave up that the Calvary Echoes would be singing again. A brother in our church as if I would sing with a mens group and I finally said yes.
This is where I met Ben Graber and he asked me if I would like to sing in a quartet. I shared what I thought the Lord had put on my heart and how things just was not working out. He suggested that I ask Mike if he wanted to sing in a quartet too. By September we decide to met and see if we could harmonize. When Ruth started to sing that night I knew then that God wanted us all to sing.
I want to thank the Lord for bring us together and also for bringing Clayton at the right time, for shortly after Clayton came Ben went to sing in the Heavenly Choir. It is my goal that people would come to know the Freedom that only comes through Christ by the songs we sing as we minister whether it is in a church or in a prison or what ever venue that we sing at. To God Be The Glory Forever and Ever Amen.
A Brother in Christ Ken
